As a Christian, prayer is talking to God. It's a way to share our thoughts, feelings, and needs with Him. But have you ever wondered how often we should pray or why some Christians fast when they pray? Please read this.
How Often Should We Pray?
Prayer is an important part of our daily life. Jesus taught His disciples to pray regularly, saying, "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you" (Matthew 7:7-8). This means that we should pray often, not just when we need something. We can pray in the morning, before meals and before bed. Some Christians even pray throughout the day, talking to God about everything that happens without calling attention to themselves.
Prayer helps us stay connected with God and shows that we trust Him. It's like having a conversation with a best friend, but even better because God has all the wisdom we will ever need and He always listens when we pray!

Why Do We Include Fasting in Extended Prayer?
Sometimes, we should choose to fast when we pray for a long time. This helps us focus on God and shows that we are serious about our prayers. Fasting can also help us feel more humble and grateful for what we have.
When we fast and pray, we are saying, "God, I'm putting aside food and other things to focus on You and what You want for me." It is a part of giving God our full attention. Jesus fasted for 40 days in the wilderness before He started His ministry, showing us the importance of prayer and fasting.
Always remember, prayer is a special way for us to talk to God. By praying often and sometimes fasting, we will deepen our relationship with God and grow in our faith.
