Dear reader,
Your light is the unique gift God has deposited within you.
What is that special thing God has placed in you, the one you know as clearly as you know your name? That calling or assignment that brings you deep fulfillment whenever you walk in it. It's not just a feeling it’s a deep knowing. It could be interceding on behalf of others, encouraging someone, ministering through songs, writing, evangelism, or more.
This light may be an inborn gift or a learned skill. As long as it is used to bring God pleasure or to bless others, then it is indeed a great light.
If you haven't discovered the light you carry, it's time to sit with the Holy Spirit in the place of fellowship. He will bring clarity and reveal what He has deposited in you. And if you already know what it is, then let it shine for the world to see.
Personally, I know I carry a great light, and I’ve made up my mind to shine it boldly.
One day, I was in a gathering and someone warned me to be careful with how I let my light shine. She said people are envious and they could harm me. I was literally told to dim or hide my light because it was shining “too much.” You should be smiling right now.
Immediately, the word of the Lord came to me:
“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.” Matthew 5:14–15 (KJV)
As I processed what the person told me and what the Lord dropped in my spirit, another scripture came alive in my heart:
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 (KJV)
I thanked the person for her concern, but I chose to follow the scripture the Lord placed in my heart. This great light isn’t meant to be hidden it is meant to shine, not for self-glorification, but for God’s glory.
Yes, when your light is bright, some people may envy you because of what you carry but, that is no reason to dim your shine. Keep doing that thing you do so well, the thing that gives God pleasure and blesses others.
You are a shining light keep shining.
I hope this has blessed you.
Thank you for reading.
