Bible Verse
“These things I have spoken to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world”
– John 16:33
The Thought
“In Him”, doesn’t make perfect sense to a literate person. It sounds like an incomplete sentence. Thus, we have to wonder what it actually means and assume what it means.
The Next Question
WHAT DO WE GET BY BEING IN HIM?
We all have lot of things (attitude, belongings, character, etc.) that makes up a human. Which is exactly what makes human the human that he is. Now saying “In Him”, who are we talking about?
We are talking about God who everything in heaven and earth belongs to. In Psalm 91:3 we are made to know that “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, will abide in the shadow of the Almighty”. In that verse we saw two out of what makes God, God. “Shelter and Shadow”.
Considering the shadow aspect, we know shadow is a direct representation of what the light is reflecting into the dark. Now imagine us being in his shadow, that means the shadow isn’t our reflection but His reflection.
This is just few of what we get while we are in him. According to
John 16:33, we get peace;
Matthew 11:28, we get rest;
John 10:10, we have abundant mind, and so on.
The BIG Question
WHO DO YOU COMMIT YOURSELF TO? IS IT GOD OR MAN OR MATERIAL THINGS?
Conclusion
God is more than enough for us. All we have to do to enjoy all that is in Him, is to believe in Him and obey all He has commanded us to do.
Until next time,
Shalom!
